Author Bio
Jim describes himself as an author in a closet, meaning it took him almost fifty eight years to finally realize that writing is what he should be doing. On the other hand, anything written before now probably would not be the same as that written today which draws on his rich experience. The short and sweet is Jim was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, saw the city burn in the seventies, was swept off his feet by Swiss charm, got married and moved to Switzerland in the eighties. He had an unshakable religious foundation which was shaken. This led to a paradigm shift of galactic proportions. Basically his new world view sees everything and everyone connected by energy as everything is energy. A path of self development studies followed where he delved into many subjects including metaphysics and, yes, dragons. With his wife, Katharina, he co-authored their self-help story Wings of Change. This got him thinking about writing fiction instead of boring self-help books. Taking inspiration from The Alchemist and The Celestine Prophecies Jim searched for an idea. It came unexpectedly through the experience of a friend which led to Pursuit, a story of dragons, dreams, discovery and destiny. You can read more about the inspiration for the book on his blog www.jmurdoch.com/blog where you’ll also find some excerpts.
His first novel, Pursuit, is a metaphysical fantasy, or some may call it visionary fiction. It is about three characters living in three time periods, a mysterious book and dreams of dragons, or are they real? Einarr, a young warrior, follows a riddle from his father to find the treasure of his life. Gaby, a little girl and passionate reader, makes an amazing discovery within the pages of an antique book. Pat climbs a mountain to escape overwhelming changes in his life and his sick pregnant wife.
Set in three different time periods, we accompany the protagonists and their individual stories through the challenges and discoveries that change their lives forever. Although separated by time, their adventures and encounters are intricately intertwined across the years. What all of the characters in this book have in common may change your life forever. The mystery, adventure and discoveries in Pursuit will have you claim your very own destiny. The legends of Mount Pilatus mentioned in this book were taken from the Pilatus official website and other sources. Believe them or not. It is the authors conviction that such legends and myths have originated with some story or other. Do dragon’s exist? Let the reader decide.Listen to a recent interview where Jim speaks about the story and the process of writing: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/joeygiggles/2013/02/20/the-authors-nook-show

In July 2013 Jim launched a new website to support independent Authors, Indie Book World http://indiebookworld.com. Finding readers, or rather getting readers to find the book, is a daunting task for many new indie authors. It requires marketing, social media presence and activity, maybe even paid advertisement. However without a budget many authors simply get lost in the darkness and often give up in discouragement. This isn’t a reflection on the quality of their work, neither is it a matter of writing unpopular stuff. Many of these authors are writing quite competitive novels and are receiving some great reviews. But getting a sizable readership still leaves many good books gathering virtual dust on the virtual shelves of POD hard-drives.
Indie Book World is an attempt to close that gap between indie author and the reader. I am convinced that if the reader is made aware of the plethora of great books by independent authors they will readily pay to read them as much as a book by a well known traditional author. Indie Book World is therefore dedicated to present ONLY books by independent authors, to gather these into one place and to make it easier for readers to explore and discover them. Delve in, discover your new favorite reads, log in and interact with the authors.

Bare Assets book blurb:
With nothing but shattered dreams and a busted heart to fuel the way, Angela Fletcher drove out of Arkansas and never looked back.
Six years later, the new and improved version of the girl she used to be steered clear of romance, love and late night promises. The only pillow talk Angela engaged in these days, was making sure the person on the other pillow knew to lose her number as soon as he left the bed. She only had room for one love in her life and that was Bare Assets, the gentleman's club she poured her heart and soul into.
Dean Murray was the devil in disguise and had left behind enough broken hearted women to populate a small country. Angela would know. She was an expert markswoman who was skillfully self-trained at shooting down the good, the bad and the ugly of all masculine targets. After all, as the owner of the most successful strip club in Dallas, Texas, it was her business to know men.
Just as she begins to fall for Dean's silky words and passionate ways, her past and present unexpectedly collide and a meticulously planned future turns into unpredictable chaos. Is the smooth talking, denim wearing devil responsible for the chaos? Or have the secrets she left buried in Arkansas, coming back to haunt her?
Author Bio:
I'm always clicking away at the keyboard, but when I'm not, my family, two dogs, and a very peculiar cat keep me on my toes! There's never a boring moment at my desk!
Besides my obvious love for coffee and all things caffeinated, I love to travel. The occasional tourist stop is fun, but I'm a back road kind of gal. Take me off the beaten path. I want to meet the ordinary people behind the culture.
My crazy family includes a husband, four kids, two grandbabies, two dogs and a cat. That's right. Life is totally insane, and so I write.
Speaking of writing, I've been spinning stories around the campfire since I can remember. Poetry was second nature and as a teen and young adult, short stories were constantly being penned. I'm an avid reader who loves almost all genres. Let's face it! A good read is a good read, regardless of whether it takes place in the future, the present, the past or with ghosts.
Excerpt:
Changing the subject before it became too serious, Angie opened the bedroom door and glanced over her shoulder. "I don't know about you, but I haven't had a single thing to eat all day. If I don't get something soon, I'm going to eat the wood off this door."
Grinning from ear to ear, he had to say it, "I have something to appease your appetite, but I'm afraid the door doesn't play into my lust filled scenario."
Laughing, she tightened the rope on her robe and wittily responded, "I would love to take part in your version of a meal, but I'm afraid I need to rely on the basic food groups for now."
"And why is that?" he asked, joining her at the door.
"Something tells me that once I truly get a taste of you, I may never want to leave this room again.
